Far EasTone reports increased net profit in 3Q15

Taiwan’s Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET) has published its financial results for the quarter ended 30 September 2015, posting an increase in net profit despite slightly lower revenues. In the three month period FET generated a total turnover of TWD22.984 billion (USD717 million), representing a 1% year-on-year decline from TWD23.249 billion, while service revenues totalled TWD18.282 billion, roughly unchanged from TWD18.228 billion in 3Q14. EBITDA in the third quarter of 2015 stood at TWD7.108 billion, up from TWD6.386 billion a year earlier, while net income totalled TWD3.215 billion, compared with TWD2.857 billion twelve months previously.

4G subscriber numbers continued to climb, reaching 2.588 million such accesses at end-September 2015, a more than six-fold increase on the 410,000 it had a year earlier. Total mobile accesses meanwhile rose by 0.7% year-on-year to 7.447 million.
