Telekom Austria has reported group revenues of EUR1.01 billion (USD1.15 billion) for the three months ended 30 September 2015, a 3.5% decline year-on-year. EBITDA for the period decreased 6.8% on an annualised basis to EUR386.4 million, while net income jumped 7.3% to EUR137.1 million in the three-month period under review. CAPEX for 3Q15 increased 19.6% y-o-y to EUR171.7 million. Commenting on the results, the telco noted that its international markets were ‘burdened by FOREX effects, as well as macro headwinds and price pressure’ in 3Q15.
In operational terms, Telekom Austria reported a total of 2.913 million (consolidated) fixed access lines in service as of 30 September, up 10.4% y-o-y. Fixed access lines profited from the acquisition of Amis in Slovenia Telekom, as well as solid organic growth in all other convergent markets, it said. Meanwhile, total mobile users increased 1.4% y-o-y to 20.192 million. The increase in Telekom’s wireless customer base was primarily driven by its Bulgarian and Serbian businesses. Going forward, the closing of Vip Operator’s merger with ONE in Macedonia closed on 1 October 2015 and the company will be consolidated in Telekom’s 4Q15 results.
