8 Oct 2015

Triple-play cable operator UPC Romania, part of the Liberty Global group, has expanded its multi-service network footprint to three additional counties via acquisitions of smaller companies alongside organic expansion, as it steps up its campaign against rivals, reports business daily ZF.ro. UPC recently gained a presence in Prahova county via the acquisition of 15,000 cable customers on the networks of local operators Tita and Greenzone, bringing UPC into close competition with rival Digital Cable Systems (AKTA) in the Prahova region. UPC has also recently opened branches in Covasna and Dambovita counties.
