ArmenTel (Beeline) to upgrade fixed line network in Shirak province

28 Sep 2015

Armenian fixed line operator ArmenTel, which trades under the Beeline banner of its Russian parent Vimpelcom, has revealed plans to upgrade and digitise its fixed line network in Shirak province. Under the modernisation, the telco intends to provide the Shirak communities of Anyshavan and Getap with high quality digital voice telephony services and access to high speed broadband internet services. The work is expected to be completed by 20 November 2016, and forms part of ArmenTel’s ongoing plan to upgrade its PSTN in the provinces. Last year, the operator successfully completed digitisation works on telecoms equipment in 16 areas across Armenia, installing 3,500 new telecoms networks and adding more than 1,000 broadband ports, including upgrading the fixed line network in Gandzak in the Gegarkuni region, in December.
