Greece’s OTE to adopt Cosmote brand

25 Sep 2015

Greek telco OTE has announced that it is to combine its fixed line brand OTE and its mobile business Cosmote under the Cosmote banner. The move is designed to promote the firm’s converged portfolio of wireline and wireless voice and data services. The President and CEO of OTE Group, Michael Tsamaz, said: ‘We have completed our transformation into a modern, competitive business, and the operational integration of fixed and mobile. Establishing a uniform image for our commercial offers is a natural evolution for OTE Group.’ A number of major telcos have already carried out a similar exercise; France Telecom adopted the Orange brand of its mobile division several years ago, while Belgacom now offers all services under the converged Proximus banner, and in July this year Telecom Italia said it would being using the TIM name across its entire fixed and mobile business.
