Italian ISP Tiscali has upgraded its legacy networks to all-IP technology under a contract with Oracle Communications. As part of the deal Oracle supplied its Oracle Communications Session Border Controller, Core Session Manager, Operations Monitor and Session Delivery Manager. The telco says the modernisation project will help it support Italian businesses and public sector clients by expanding its service offerings, consolidating its systems into one IMS network to improve efficiency, and enhancing network monitoring capabilities. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Tiscali claimed around 3.1% of Italy’s broadband subscribers at the end of June 2015 with 457,200 customers.
