SWAN shows off HD voice

8 Sep 2015

Slovakian fixed and mobile operator SWAN has carried out the country’s first live demonstration of voice-over-Long Term Evolution (VoLTE) technology. The telco says the service will be launched commercially once there are more VoLTE-enabled handsets on the market. SWAN acquired a 4G mobile licence in a December 2013 auction and went on to launch Slovakia’s fourth cellular network in March 2015, though it has still to finalise roaming agreements with the three incumbent operators, Orange, O2 and Slovak Telekom.
