Vodafone India has announced that it will launch its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network by the end of 2015. Previously, in February 2014 the cellco acquired 4G-suitable spectrum in five circles, namely: Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Kerala and Karnataka. These circles together contribute close to 50% of the total data revenues for Vodafone India. A statement released by the company read: ‘Important data markets, including Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Kochi, will be part of the first wave of the rollout … Testing of 4G services has commenced successfully.’
