Telekom Slovenije reports 4% drop in sales for H1 2015

27 Aug 2015

The Slovenian state-backed fixed and mobile operator Telekom Slovenije has reported revenues of EUR364.6 million (USD417 million) for the first six months of 2015, down 4% year-on-year. The drop was attributed to lower call termination charges and declining revenues from traditional voice telephony. Net profit amounted to EUR20.6 million, down from EUR31.0 million the year before. The firm witnessed slight declines in its subscriber totals for fixed voice, broadband and mobile services in the year to 30 June 2015, as it ended the period with 1.11 million domestic cellular users, 390,276 fixed telephony customers and 198,193 broadband internet subscribers. Earlier this year the Slovenian government failed in its bid to attract a buyer for its majority stake in Telekom, with the only potential purchaser, private equity firm Cinven, walking away from a deal at the beginning of this month after months of negotiations.
