Beeline improves mobile coverage in Yerevan and Aragatsotn

26 Aug 2015

Armenian fixed and mobile operator ArmenTel (Beeline) has announced that it has expanded its cellular coverage in the capital Yerevan and in Aragatsotn province, deploying ‘dozens’ of new 2G GSM and 3G W-CDMA base stations in the former, as well as rolling out new cell sites in Hamberd, Voskevaz and Kuchak, in Aragatsotn. The latest expansion comes in the wake of the recent rollout of 3G base stations in the provinces of Shirak, Gegharkunik, Ararat, Syunik and Kotayk, as the cellco – a subsidiary of Russian group Vimpelcom – looks to boost its mobile base in the country. At 30 June 2015 Beeline counted a total of more than 815,000 users on its network, up a net 20,000 from the previous quarter.
