Orange sets sights on G.fast pilot by end-2015

4 Aug 2015

Orange Poland has carried out its first test of G.fast technology at its Orange Labs, trialling downlink/uplink speeds of 300Mbps/30Mbps, high definition TV (HDTV) and voice-over-internet protocol (VoIP) over the copper last-mile technology, the operator said in a blog post. Orange Poland added that the development and adoption of G.fast technology would allow it to provide end users with download speeds of more than 500Mbps over copper lines (in conjunction with fibre-to-the-distribution-point [FTTdp] or similar network architecture). Orange plans to pilot the technology for customers in late 2015.
