Netia completes TK Telekom buyout

21 Jul 2015

Polish alternative fixed line and broadband provider Netia has completed its acquisition of backbone network provider TK Telekom from Poland’s national rail operator PKP Group. The final purchase price for 100% of the shares of TK Telekom was just under PLN222 million (USD58.4 million). The transaction, which was funded from available credit lines and Netia’s own resources, will add 7,500km of fibre backbone to Netia’s footprint and will see the firm’s business-to-business (B2B) operations grow by around 28%. ‘An extensive fibre-optic network and portfolio of strategically important clients will strengthen Netia Group’s position in the B2B segment,’ commented Andrzej Kondracki, the telco’s head of strategy and corporate development.
