Du partners Huawei for mobile broadband network development

Dubai-based telecoms operator Du has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Chinese equipment vendor Huawei for the development of a next generation mobile broadband network in the UAE. Under the three-year wireless network insight project, Huawei will assist Du in the development of a new network that will offer evolutionary architecture to ensure the best possible user experience, TradeArabia cites a statement as saying. ‘This MoU with Huawei outlines our commitment to offer the fastest, most reliable and technologically innovative mobile broadband connectivity services for our consumers in the UAE. We are witnessing the exponential rise in data usage, and to ensure that our customers continue to experience great service we need to remain at the forefront of technology,’ commented Marwan BinShakar, Du’s vice president of Mobile Access Network, adding: ‘As our strategic partner, Huawei has showcased its capability in partnering with us to shape the evolution roadmap for our network and has implemented multi-layer network solutions across the world.’ Huawei will lead on network insight to oversee Du’s business operations and provide technical and service support.
