Russia’s Ministry of Telecom & Mass Communications (Minsvyaz) confirms on its website that the State Commission for Radio Frequencies (SCRF) has cleared a wide range of frequencies for shared usage between mobile operators with the purpose of developing 4G LTE services. The spectrum ranges approved for LTE network sharing are: 791-820MHz, 832-861MHz, 890-915MHz, 935-960MHz, 1710-1785MHz, 1805-1880MHz and 2500-2690MHz. The decision will take effect on 1 October 2015, when administrative and regulatory procedures between operators and the Federal Service for Supervision of ITC (Roskomnadzor) are scheduled to be approved. Telecom minister Nikolay Nikiforov declared: ‘[The] possibility of mutual telecom infrastructure use was recently provided to telecom operators and it has already turned out to be highly effective. Today the SCRF adopted a new decision on mutual use of radio frequencies. It will help to continue improvement of quality and availability of telecom services. These changes will also help to accelerate … development of modern telecom standards on the territory of Russia.’
