Unitymedia launches 200Mbps/250Mbps internet for businesses

German cable network operator Unitymedia, which is owned by UK-based Liberty Global, has begun offering broadband internet connections at download speeds of up to 200Mbps and 250Mbps to its business customer base. From this month, SME clients across Unitymedia’s footprint of North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse and Baden-Wuerttemberg will be able to subscribe to the ‘Office Internet & Phone’ packages, which offer maximum downstream rates of 25Mbps, 150Mbps, 200Mbps, and in some areas, 250Mbps. Unitymedia’s cable network passes around 12.7 million households and the firm had a customer base of roughly 7.1 million at the end of March 2015.
