Melita deploys DC-HSPA+

1 Jul 2015

Maltese fixed, mobile, broadband and pay-TV operator Melita has announced the launch of 42Mbps DC-HSPA+ wireless data services on its cellular networks. The first towns to get coverage include Valletta, Sliema, and Paceville. Swedish vendor Ericsson has been selected to provide equipment for the upgrade work. 42Mbps technology is being rolled out gradually in various localities and will continue over the coming months, Melita says. Melita is the smallest of Malta’s three mobile operators, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, with around 15% of the overall market at the end of March 2015.
