ArmenTel, the Armenian PTO that trades under the Beeline banner of its Russian parent company Vimpelcom, has announced the launch of two new packages aimed at its pre-paid subscribers. The new services, called ‘Active’ and ‘Active 7’, allow pay-as-you-go users to make unlimited calls within Beeline’s mobile network, as well as giving them mobile broadband access and ‘free’ traffic to use social networks such as Facebook, Odnoklassniki and VKontakte. Arka News quotes ArmenTel CEO Andrei Pyatakhin as saying that over 2.5 million Armenians are subscribed to the aforementioned social networks which have become a popular means of communication for many people in the country.
ArmenTel’s Active 7 is valid for seven days (excluding the day of activation), costs AMD590 (USD1.25) and comes with unlimited on-net voice calls, 300MB of internet data and free access to social networks. Meanwhile, Active is a monthly offer (i.e. 30 days) and includes all of the above, although the user’s internet package is a more generous 1GB. The Active package costs AMD1,990.
