Chinese vendor Huawei has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a new Strategic Alliance with UK-based Vodafone Global Enterprise which will focus on the enterprise market in Europe, Asia Pacific and Africa. Under the terms of the agreement the two companies will work together on the development of a variety of enterprise communications and technology services for global enterprise customers, with specific areas of cooperation to initially include the use of Huawei’s fixed and mobile connectivity bonding technology for new products, investigating the opportunities for in-building coverage solutions, the development of new machine-to-machine (M2M) module designs, and the development of solutions regarding Safe City, Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud data centers. Meanwhile, this latest agreement, it was noted, builds on the ‘extensive existing partnership’ between Vodafone and Huawei, where the companies have cooperated in infrastructure and devices development, and collaborated in joint innovations in enterprise technology.
