Spanish cable company Telecable, which operates in the Asturias region, has increased the maximum speed of its fixed broadband service to 300Mbps. The higher fibre speeds will be rolled out at no additional cost to existing customers of Telecable’s 200Mbps plans. Last month, fixed line incumbent Telefonica Espana (Movistar) and Vodafone Spain revealed that they are boosting the top-end speed available over their fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) networks to 300Mbps, while Basque regional operator Euskaltel has launched maximum broadband connection rates of 350Mbps.
