Croatian regulator opens universal service tender

The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) has announced a public tender to select a national universal service provider for the next four years. The operator will be called upon to provide: access to the public communications network and publicly available telephone services provided at a fixed location; access to at least one comprehensive public directory of all subscribers of publicly available telephone services; access to the service for providing subscribers’ numbers information; setting up public phone booths; specific measures for physically challenged persons; special pricing systems adjusted to the needs of socially vulnerable groups of users. The responsibility for universal service provision currently lies with T-Hrvatski Telekom (T-HT).
