AM to prioritise FTTH rollout; five-year strategic plan nearly ready

1 Jun 2015

America Movil (AM) is poised to unveil its new five-year strategic plan, El Economista reports, with the deployment of a 500,000km fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network across its numerous LatAm markets said to be the telco’s top priority. The leaked plans, which will require substantial investment from Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim, coincide with the arrival of US powerhouse AT&T Inc in Mexico. The business daily suggests that AM will use the fibre infrastructure to support its pay-TV ambitions across the continent.
