Carlyle examining possible sale of Telecable stake?

Private equity firm Carlyle is said to have hired Goldman Sachs to advise it with regards to the possible sale of its controlling stake in Spanish cableco Telecable, according to Reuters, which cites two unnamed sources with knowledge of the deal. Carlyle currently holds an 85% stake in Asturias-based Telecable, which claims to have an 80% market share in the pay-TV sector in its region of operation, along with 30% and 48% share of the fixed voice and fixed broadband sectors, respectively.
