Init completes Dokeda acquisition

Lithuanian fixed telephony, broadband and cable TV provider Init has completed the purchase of 100% of shares in regional cable operator Dokeda, reports Verslo Zinios. Dokeda, which was established in 1999 and offers telecoms services under the brand Meganet, provides fibre-optic broadband internet access, cable television and IPTV services in the four cities of Vilnius, Kaunas, Mazeikiai and Jonava, while Init already operates in Vilnius, Kaunas, Druskininkai, Birstonas, Lentvaris and Pagiriai. Init CEO Paulius Zivatkauskas was quoted as saying that the transaction will further strengthen the company’s position in the fibre-optic internet market, and will enable the firm to enter two new cities, as well as improve internet service for existing customers.’ No financial details of the deal have been disclosed.
