CenturyLink now offering 1Gbps broadband in parts of 17 states

CenturyLink has announced that says it now offers symmetrical 1Gbps broadband services to businesses in parts of Iowa, Idaho, North Carolina, Ohio and Wisconsin, taking the number of states covered by the service to 17. The latest rollout means that fibre network services are now available to 115,000 additional US business locations in the five states. Gigabit coverage has also been expanded in a further nine of the twelve states where CenturyLink initially deployed connectivity in August 2014. CenturyLink uses fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) technology to provide speeds of up to 1Gbps to businesses located near the company’s fibre network backbone or in fibre-fed multi-tenant unit office buildings.
