Cell C’s subscribers on the rise

South African wireless operator Cell C has revealed that its revenues have increased by 3% in the twelve months to end-March 2015, on the back of data revenue growth of 58.5% year-on-year, from ZAR417 million (USD35 million) reported in Q1 2014 to ZAR661 million a year later, BusinessTech reports. Cell C’s chief financial officer Robert Pasley was cited as saying that prepaid service revenue increased by 17% in the period under review and now accounts for 60% of overall revenues, while contract revenues remained flat. The operator also said that its subscriber base reached 20.4 million by end-March 2015, up 28% y-o-y.
