Videocon outlines USD32.7m investment plan for Gujarat

Videocon Telecom has unveiled plans to invest INR2.1 billion (USD32.66 million) in the expansion of its GSM and fixed broadband networks in Gujarat, the Economic Times writes. The provider plans to install 450 new cell sites, 330 of which will be used to expand coverage across 142 new towns, whilst the remaining 120 will enhance capacity and accommodate more users in areas within Videocon’s existing footprint. The operator has also lined up rollouts of fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) networks in selected areas of key cities, including Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara.
