Vodafone has partnered with OTP Bank and MasterCard to launch its mobile money service in Hungary, the Budapest Business Journal reports, citing Hungarian news agency MTI. Using near field communication (NFC) technology, Vodafone Wallet allows compatible devices to make contactless payments and is now offered at approximately 45,000 points-of-sale (POS) across the country. Vodafone expects to expand the service to include customer loyalty programmes in the future. According to the UK-based operator, as at 31 March 2015 Vodafone Wallet services were available in Germany, Spain, the UK, Italy and the Netherlands.
