Belgacom reports fixed and mobile growth in Q1

Belgium’s Belgacom Group, which offers services under the Proximus and Scarlet brands, has reported a 5.5% increase in first quarter revenues to EUR1.48 billion (USD1.66 billion). EBITDA increased from EUR405 million in the first three months of 2014 to EUR425 million in 1Q15, with the company reporting positive performances in both its mobile and fixed businesses. Mobile subscriptions increased to 4.23 million at end-March 2015, up from 4.17 million a year earlier, while fixed access lines rose from 3.72 million to 3.79 million and TV subscribers climbed to 1.66 million, from 1.50 million. Dominique Leroy, CEO of Belgacom Group, said: ‘I’m proud to announce we had a successful start of the year 2015, with both financial and operational achievements supporting our 2016 ambition to return to sustainable growth.’
