US cableco Suddenlink has tapped domestic vendor ARRIS Group to deploy its E6000 Converged Edge Router (CER), with a view to delivering an ‘optimal broadband data performance’ to its subscribers. The press release notes that the new router gives the cableco the option of delivering downlink transmission speeds of 1Gbps and beyond to its customers. For its part, the vendor claims that the E6000 CER delivers ‘new levels of density and cost-effectiveness in a simple, robust integrated architecture’.

Suddenlink is the seventh largest cable broadband operator in the United States, with more than 1.5 million residential and commercial customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, West Virginia and elsewhere.
