Tele2 Lithuania has revealed that its LTE network is currently available in around 60 towns and cities, covering approximately 70% of the country’s population. The Swedish-owned company says it plans to expand 4G services to Birstono, Silute, Jurbarkas, Salcininkai, Pabrade, Kybartai, Svencioniu and Eisiskiu in the near future, with population coverage set to increase to around 90% by the end of the year. Tele2 Lithuania’s LTE network, which was launched in March 2013, currently consists of more than 330 4G base stations, using the 800MHz frequency band for wide coverage across urban and rural/highway zones, alongside the 1800MHz and 2600MHz bands to meet coverage and capacity demands in cities.
