Init to purchase regional cable operator Dokeda

Lithuanian fixed telephony, broadband and cable TV provider Init has purchased 100% of shares in regional cable operator Dokeda, according to a report by Verslo Zinios. Dokeda, which was established in 1999 and offers telecoms services under the brand Meganet, provides fibre-optic broadband internet access, cable television and IPTV services in the four cities of Vilnius, Kaunas, Mazeikiai and Jonava. The company is Lithuania’s fifth largest fixed broadband operator, with over 30,000 high speed internet customers at the end of 2014, states TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database. No financial details of the deal, which is expected to be completed this month, have been disclosed.
