Arabsat, KACST sign USD650m satellite deal

Saudi Arabia-based Arab Satellite Communications (Arabsat) and King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) have signed deals worth USD650 million with US-based Lockheed Martin and Aryan Space for the deployment of two telecoms satellites, which will be launched within two years, Zawya reports. Arabsat’s CEO Khalid Balkheyour said that the Arabsat 6A and Hellas-Sat-4/SaudiGeoSat-1 will join a fleet of satellites that provides millions of people access to TV, radio and broadband services. The new deployments will bring the number of KACST satellites in orbit to 15.
