TEO LT, Lithuania’s incumbent fixed line operator, has reported revenue of EUR49.954 million (USD53.8 million) for the first quarter of 2015, an increase of 1.8% from EUR49.077 million in the year-ago period, as voice telephony service sales grew 1.0% year-on-year to EUR19.814 million. The company said that turnover from internet services rose 0.1% in the first three months of 2015 to EUR13.435 million and TV services saw growth of 10.7% year-on-year to EUR4.860 million, while data and network services revenue decreased 5.1% to EUR5.422 million in 1Q15. IT services revenue jumped 34.2% from EUR4.129 million in Q1 2014 to EUR5.542 million a year later. EBITDA for the first quarter of 2015 totalled EUR18.794 million, down 1.3% from EUR19.033 million a year earlier due to the increased cost of services, while net profit dropped 7.7% year-on-year to EUR8.473 million. During the first three months of 2015 capital investments totalled EUR4.3 million, of which around EUR2.0 million went towards the expansion of TEO’s fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) access network, which is present in more than 100 towns and cities across the country, passing around 69% of households (837,000) at the end of March 2015 (up from 808,000 homes a year earlier).
TEO reported a broadband internet subscriber base of 538,174 at 31 March 2015 (an increase of 21.8% from 441,743 twelve months earlier), including 205,681 FTTx customers (up 11.8% year-on-year) and 169,042 xDSL subscribers (down 3.1%). Television customers increased by 10.0% over the twelve-month period to reach 191,085 at the end of March 2015, driven by a 24.7% year-on-year jump in IPTV users to 138,139, while the total number of main telephone lines in service at the end of Q1 2015 amounted to 518,595, a decrease of 6.2% from 552,708 a year earlier.
