Networking solutions provider Coriant has announced that Telefonica Deutschland has selected the Coriant 8600 Smart Router Series and Coriant 8000 Intelligent Network Manager (INM) to support the evolution of its mobile backhaul network, including the integration of the O2 and E-Plus network infrastructures. The solution will enable Telefonica to cost-effectively expand coverage across a range of mobile backhaul locations while providing the foundation for easy and efficient bandwidth scalability as mobile data traffic continues to grow. ‘A reliable and agile backhaul infrastructure is key to delivering a high-quality mobile data experience for our customers,’ said Telefonica Deutschland’s CTO Cayetano Carbajo, adding: ‘We selected Coriant for this important project because of their demonstrated track record in helping service providers modernise mobile network infrastructure to support evolving service demands. We need the advanced capabilities and features of the Coriant IP/MPLS router portfolio – including scalability to 100G and superior 1588v2 synchronisation performance – as these will enable us to fully optimise network efficiencies and service performance across our converged network, from high-density aggregation sites to remote locations.’
