Users of Airtel Ghana’s Airtel Money service were responsible for a record one million transactions in the month of March, surpassing the monthly average of 500,000 in 2014. News site SpyGhana reports that ‘money transfer transactions (P2P), airtime transactions and other merchant transactions’ are the driving force behind the substantial increase in use. The website cites Airtel Ghana marketing director Manu Rajan as saying: ‘Airtel Money has been accepted as a reliable means of transacting business and shows our customers’ growing confidence in our ability to meet their needs in a secured manner.’
