Vodafone Greece increases HOL stake to 99.53%

Vodafone Greece has acquired an additional 8.34% stake in Greek broadband operator Hellas Online (HOL), raising its total stake to 99.53%, or 178.863 million shares. The most recent increase has seen 52 accepting shareholders sell a combined 1.63% stake to Vodafone, with a further 6.71% stake acquired via brokerages. Going forward, Vodafone will exercise its right to squeeze out all of the remaining minority shareholders in HOL and delist the company from the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), it confirmed in a statement.

According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, in November 2014 Vodafone completed its acquisition of a 72.7% stake in HOL for a total cost of EUR72.7 million (USD90.4 million), increasing its total share capital to 91.2% in the process.
