Orange Money launching in Romania this year

30 Mar 2015

Orange Romania plans to launch the ‘Orange Money’ mobile banking and cash transfer service in the eastern European country by the end of this year, having already established a local subsidiary company specifically for the purpose, reports. Orange Money will compete against its cellular network operating rival Vodafone Romania’s ‘M-Pesa’ service which launched in the country last year, having been rolled out across developing nations in other continents by Vodafone Group. Similarly, Orange Group’s Orange Money service has successfully spread across more than a dozen African countries since its introduction in 2008.
