Telefonica deploys Cisco routers for metro Ethernet; IP backhaul

Telefonica has deployed Cisco’s ASR 9000, ASR 901 and ASR 903 routers in a number of Latin American markets, as part of its Evolved Programmable Network (EPN) project, which will see it deliver enhanced mobile backhaul services across the region. Telefonica has deployed ASR 9000 and ASR 903 routers in Brazil, with ASR 9000 hardware deployed in Argentina and Chile. Meanwhile, in Mexico Telefonica has chosen Cisco to deploy its ASR9000, ASR 901 and ASR 903 routers to support Long Term Evolution (LTE) backhaul services.
