26 Mar 2015

Slovakia’s Office for Regulation of Electronic Communications & Postal Services (Regulacny Urad – RU) has revealed that 170,500 people used 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) mobile data services in the second half of 2014. The watchdog said that 78% of users were residential customers, with 549TB of traffic carried on 4G networks over the six-month period. Slovakia’s four cellular operators – Orange Slovensko, Slovak Telekom, O2 Slovakia and new entrant SWAN – have all now launched LTE-based networks. The market was home to 6.7 million mobile subscribers at the end of 2014, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database.
