Telekom sale could be delayed once more

25 Mar 2015

The privatisation of Telekom Slovenije is facing a further delay, with the deadline for final bids now pushed back to April from the earlier end-March date. According to a report from Telecompaper which cites local news source Delo.si, the government has announced that it is working on a new privatisation plan for a number of state entities and this may introduce even more delays into the sale of a majority stake in Telekom. German telco Deutsche Telekom (DT) and private equity firm Cinven are thought to be the two parties most interested in acquiring the state’s 72.58% holding, along with shares held by a number of minority investors, taking the total stake on offer to 75.58%. Meanwhile, interest is thought to have cooled at three other private equity companies: Providence, Bain Capital and Apax.
