PCCW Global, the international telecoms carrier division of Hong Kong’s HKT, has signed a Network-to-Network Interface (NNI) agreement with Benin’s Isocel Telecom, which will interconnect with PCCW Global’s MPLS network and also implement cross-border connectivity with neighbouring Burkina Faso, where Isocel collaborates with a leading data carrier, a press release announced. The NNI agreement with Isocel also enables the provision of Ethernet and IP VPN services in Benin and neighbouring countries, and Joey Esquibal, Isocel’s chief information officer, said: ‘I am confident that many of our business customers will be quick to take advantage of the new MPLS, Ethernet and IP VPN additions to the Isocel portfolio which this NNI agreement with PCCW Global will facilitate.’
The PCCW Global network spans five continents and 3,000 cities in 140 countries, including at least 45 African countries served with voice, video, data, Internet, MPLS and interconnection for enterprises and telecoms service providers. Isocel offers broadband Internet connectivity and data transmission for corporate, SME and consumer customers, alongside server hosting, remote site interconnection and other tailor made solutions for large corporates and international organisations. Isocel’s network covers the cities of Cotonou, Porto-Novo and their surroundings and has over thirty Points of Presence (PoPs) enabling the company to offer its services on demand throughout Benin and the some other West African countries.
