Tele2 Russia seeks to integrate 33 companies by June 2015

4 Mar 2015

Tele2 Russia has disclosed plans to integrate 33 affiliated companies into its central operation by June this year, as part of its long-running merger with the mobile assets belonging to national operator Rostelecom. Companies scheduled to be absorbed include CDMA operator SkyLink, corporate telco Eurasia Telecom and Izhevsk-based Udmurtia Cellular Corporation. The enlarged entity is expected to be renamed ‘T2 Mobile’ in due course.

Tele2 press secretary Irina Rybakova told ComNews: ‘Reducing the number of legal entities will lead to optimisation of intercompany settlements, reduce the administrative burden and improve the efficiency of management of the company. Savings in administrative costs [will] amount to more than RUB300 million (USD4.8 million) per year. This amount is enough, for example, for the construction of 3G networks in several regions.’
