AzTelekom, MCHT launch FNP service

3 Mar 2015

Azerbaijan’s fixed line incumbent, AzTelekom has launched a new fixed number portability (FNP) service in association with the country’s Ministry of Communications and High Technologies (MCHT). Landline numbers located in capital city Baku, with the prefix 585, can now be ported to any region of the country, with the MCHT claiming that the move will help to break down the digital divide between urban and rural areas. For a monthly fee of AZN15 (USD14.3) AzTelekom subscribers can make unlimited free calls on a nationwide basis.
