Telecom Italia outlines three-year strategy

Telecom Italia (TI) has published a three-year business plan for 2015-2017 under which it expects to invest a total of EUR10 billion (USD11.4 billion) in Italy plus more than EUR4 billion in its Brazilian operation TIM Brasil. As part of its domestic strategy, TI plans to pump EUR2.9 billion into the expansion of fibre-optic networks to cover 75% of the Italian population, while another EUR900 million will go towards upping Long Term Evolution (LTE) 4G mobile coverage to 95%. In Brazil, TI is looking to expand 4G coverage to 15,000 localities within three years.
