Danish cellco TDC has improved its 3G mobile coverage in North Jutland by upgrading its base transceiver stations (BTS) in the area to support 900MHz frequencies. Along with the reconfiguring of its telecoms masts, the telco is also upgrading its equipment to 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology. Further, the operator disclosed that the last stage of the comprehensive upgrade of its nationwide mobile networks is due to start next week, and will see the improvement of the last 100 BTS in North Jutland. When the upgrade project is complete (March 2015), TDC will have improved its whole network, consisting of around 3,400 towers. Of the total, 2,300 BTS will be LTE-enabled, while 2,500 BTS will support 900MHz frequencies.
