Sonic hedges bets with Gigabit rollout; ADTRAN hogs contract

Sonic, which claims to be the largest independent internet service provider (ISP) in Northern California, has signed a contract with vendor ADTRAN to deploy 1Gbps fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) connectivity to six Northern California communities, including Brentwood. The telco deployed its first FTTH network in Sebastopol, north of San Francisco in March 2012.
