Dhivehi Raajjeyge Gulhun (Dhiraagu), the Maldives’ incumbent telecoms operator, has announced the launch of a new service that enables customers to watch live TV on their PC, smartphone, tablet and laptop computer either at home or on the move. ‘DhiraaguTV’ can be viewed simultaneously on different devices regardless of location or time, and is available over both the operator’s fixed and mobile networks. ‘We wanted to find a way to offer customers a simple, straightforward way to view TV content across multiple numbers of smart devices or screens while they are waiting in line, in a ferry or anywhere, anytime,’ commented the firm’s marketing manager of broadband and data services, Mohamed Fahir, adding: ‘The service is reliable, customised and enhanced for streaming to meet the demands of our customers. This is just the initial phase of our TV service; we will be further expanding the service to offer quality entertainment to be enjoyed anywhere and anytime.’ As a promotional offer, subscription to DhiraaguTV will be free of charge until 28 February 2015.
