MTN Irancell offers unlimited mobile data at night

21 Jan 2015

Iran’s second largest mobile operator, MTN Irancell, has launched the country’s first unlimited mobile data tariff plans, though the services currently only offer unlimited usage during the night, between 2am and 8am. A one-day unlimited night pack costs IRR30,000 (USD1.10), while a one-week plan costs IRR100,000. The South African-backed firm says it received a positive response to its earlier launch of mobile internet bolt-on packs. Irancell claimed around 40% of Iran’s 108 million mobile users at the end of September 2014, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database.
