Final decision on TeliaSonera’s acquisition of Tele2 Norge delayed as it submits new remedies

15 Jan 2015

A final decision regarding the proposed acquisition of Tele2 Norge by TeliaSonera has been delayed by the Norwegian Competition Authority (NCA), with the antitrust watchdog revealing that the Swedish company has submitted a new remedy proposal in connection with the deal. In accordance with the country’s Competition Act, the NCA has confirmed that proceedings regarding the matter have been extended for a further 15 working days; as such, the new and final deadline for a ruling is 5 February 2015. Despite revealing that TeliaSonera had put forward updated proposals with a view to gaining regulatory approval for the deal, the NCA said it could not comment on the content of the proposed remedies.
