Telekom Slovenije bid deadline likely to be pushed back

14 Jan 2015

The government of Slovenia is likely to extend the deadline for accepting bids for its majority stake in fixed and mobile operator Telekom Slovenije. According to a report from local business newspaper Finance, the time limit is expected to be moved back by around a month from the initial date of 19 January, with bidders asking for more time to study the deal. German telco Deutsche Telekom (DT) and private equity firm Cinven are thought to be the two parties most interested in acquiring the state’s 72.58% holding, along with shares held by a number of minority investors, taking the total stake on offer to 75.58%. Meanwhile, interest is thought to have cooled at three other private equity companies: Providence, Bain Capital and Apax.
